Re: ae86
it looks exceptional.
of course i'd expect your going to drift with it?
i'd try to get something 1985+, possibly a GT-S that came with the stock LSD, though the JDM diff. was bigger - theres always a possiblity that your gonna run into clearance issues... ummm
all of those motors are pretty weak sauce - alot of people get 20 valve's from AE111's and slap em in, others go SR20's, but i dont like the idea of "check out my toyota AE86 with a nissan engine"
thats just me though.
body styles are the Sprinter Trueno and the Corolla Levin.. one has pop up lights, the other doesn't.
the coupe's are suppose to be lighter then the fastbacks.
4A-GEC motor in GT-S', in japan they run 4A-GE (what they used in 1st gen mr2's)
there isn't much FANTASTIC engine options..whatever you get, you still gotta build quite a bit yanno?

Re: ae86
my input. i would get a levin coupe with an s2000 motor. the newest one with the 2.2 and use it for lapping events.

Re: ae86
fastback is the way to go they look so much better. who cars about weight its all about looks!
Re: ae86
Lol if it wasn't ever about cars you know all our cars would look messed up. and we would not be trying to take pictures of our cars.
Re: ae86
well thats true. looks are important but its also the style you like. each person is different. like how coupe peeps want sedans and how sedans want coupes. or how coupes are edm and how sedans are jdm. so on and so forth. but all that aside......look takumi (rodney) its all about the coupes!!! mwahahahahaaaaaaa!

Re: ae86
well theres always something funky about putting different motors into different cars but they do it all the time. ls1 into rx7's s2000 into ae86 k20 into a go-kart, k20 into a lotus exige (outperforms the stock exige), small block 350's in the old toyotas. but it gets the job done. plus hondas are great powerplants for "na" builds. plus most hondas after tune are around 28mpg+ on a dyno tune and on a road tune close to even 34mpg+. proven fact. and no turbo! next meet is next sunday. pm rodney for details.
